Remo Stars vs Shooting Stars: Eschew Violence 3SC Boss Appeals to Traveling Fans

Travelling supporters and fans of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, who will make a trip to Ikenne for Wednesday’s Matchday three encounter between the Oluyole Warriors and Remo Stars have been asked to maintain decorum before, during and after the match.

Executive Chairman of the Ibadan soccer lords, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, made this appeal while featuring on a radio programme, Aiyekooto.

“I want to use this medium to make a passionate appeal to our supporters and fans who will be travelling to Ikenne to watch the game against Remo Stars, to please, try as much as possible to eschew any form of violence because the current organisers of the league, the IMC will not condone such.

“They have made it clear that any team, whose fans are found wanting in this regards will not be fined or have their stadium banned only, but will have three points deducted from their points”.

The former Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, assured the teeming lovers of the Oluyole Warriors that the team will excel this season, stressing that with a sound tactician like coach Gbenga Ogunbote, quality players and the welfare package of the management, the Ibadan soccer lords will surely rise to the occasion this season.

Akoro, as the retired referee is fondly called explained that the team lacks nothing in terms of support from the state government, saying that the management always have a way of communicating with the state helmsman, Engineer Seyi Makinde, when the need arises, despite his busy schedules.

“I can tell you authoritatively that we are not owing any of our players and staff. We always pay them as at when due, all thanks to the state government who makes the funds available for us”, added the politician cum football administrator.

He saluted the courage of the Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye led IMC in taking bold steps to reform the league, adding that so far so good, the committee has been doing a good job, which is evident in the standard of the three week old season, as seen in results of matches so far.
