There was a protest in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital this morning following the news that the Ibadan based broadcaster and founder of Agidigbo FM, Hamzat Oriyomi was arrested late Wednesday night.
Some of his followers and fans thronged major streets in Ibadan after leaving Agidigbo FM premises.
They were also at the premises of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State protesting the arrest and the whisking away of Oriyomi Hamzat who was taken to Abuja this morning.
The protesters were armed with different placards with bold inscriptions clamouring for the release of Hamzat.
They also warned the police not to killed or harm Oriyomi in the process.
They therefore appealed to the state government , the Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun, Ali Okunmade 2 and other statemen to intervene and secure the immediate release of the ace broadcaster.
It will also be recalled that Oriyomi Hamzat in a trending video claimed his arrest was related to his role and reportage of the death of Timothy Adegoke, a master’s student of the Obafemi Awolowo University.
