The Olúbàdàn of Ìbàdànland, Ọba Saliu Adetunji, Ajé Ògúngúnísò, is dead.
It was gathered that the 93-year-old monarch died in the early hours of Sunday, January 2, 2022, at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
His death was confirmed by one of the Monarch’s aides.
Ọba Adetunji, who was crowned the 41st Olubadan on March 4, 2016, was born on August 26, 1928, and was the first of 17 children of his parents.
The Fidau Prayer for the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland, and Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, would hold today, at the historic Mapo Hall by 4.00pm, according to Islamic rite.
Ọba Saliu Adetunji is survived by his wife, Olorì Rashidat Ololade Adetunji, Children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
It would be recalled that exactly three Sundays ago, precisely on December 12, 2021, the Ṣọ̀ún of Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́land, Ọba Jimoh Ọladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III earlier joined his ancestors at the age of 95.
