Former Nigeria President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed concerns over the continued exclusion of Nigeria youths from governance.

Obasanjo stated this while interacting with some secondary school students at an event held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The former President when asked if the present youths could be allowed to rule the nation, Obasanjo expressed concerns, saying youths may never come into power should the current trend in Nigeria continue.

“Not-Too-Young-To-Run” campaign, people contesting to rule the nation are between 70 and 80 years old.

“How can the youths run?,” he asked, adding that the amount of money involved in going into politics would not allow youths to get to leadership positions.

The former Nigeria leader also disclosed that he made many mistakes in life including choosing his then Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as well as rejecting assylum granted him in 1995 when Abacha wanted to incarcerate him.
