As Nigerians welcomed the new year on Monday, a cleric and General Overseer, Christ The Light Ministry, Ibadan, Bishop Solomon Aremu has leaders at the helms of affairs in Nigeria to turn a new leaf and put the interest of their people at heart.
Bishop Aremu stated this at the 2023 cross over night to ushered in 2024 held at the premises, Ologuneru Ibadan.
Rev Aremu, who warned that president Tinubu and other democratically elected leaders should not Nigerians conclude with regret that they use their thumb to vote problems upon themselves, called for political will to deliver campaign promises so as to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Many are dead, a lot of people are finding it difficult to figure out their lives, it’s when the government fulfil it’s promises, that’s when the people can have a sense of belonging.
He noted that the masses are tired of failed promises, saying people were wallowing in abject poverty and called on leadership of the three tiers of governments to implement their campaign promises in the interest of the masses.
There’s no stable power supply, there’s inflation on virtually everything in Nigeria, it’s now difficult to import vehicles into the country, even the clerics no longer receive gifts from their congregations because they too are battling with the current realities “
Rev’d Aremu stated that if the leaders failed to heed to the cry of the masses, the Lord can change them before the expiration of their four years tenure in office, stressing that the hardship was too much and unbearable.
There’s no force militating against Nigeria, our politicians are the problem of this nation, we are yet to get it right at the leadership level that’s why other smaller countries mock us as giant of Africa. Our citizens are facing hell all over the world, many are killed, stranded and displaced”
He called on clergymen to speak truth to power, urging them not to compromise, saying they were the last hope of the common man
