Oyo State governor Engineer Seyi Makinde has flagged off the construction of 5km Odo Ona kekere, Arapaja, Asunle Road, in Oluyole local government.
The flag off event was held during the campaign tour of the local government on Tuesday.
Speaking at the program, governor Seyi Makinde, said that the present administration believes in getting value for money spent on every project whether at the state or local government level
While commending the authority of the local government under the leadership of Mr Olaide Settle, for embarking on such laudable projects, governor Makinde reiterated that the local councils in the state are enjoying their autonomy without interference from the state government.
The governor however lauded Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, an indigen of the local government, for rendering selfless service to his people, adding that he called for the construction of the 5km Odo Ona kekere, Arapaja, Asunle Road.
Governor Seyi Makinde also addressed members of Traditional council of Oluyole local at the council Hall, Idi Ayunre, where he reiterated that the welfare of the traditional rulers in the State is so paramount to the his government.
It was rain of encomiums for governor Seyi Makinde as he was hosted by the leadership of Market Men and Women of the local government, the members of Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Oluyole LG chapter, Retirees, Traditionalists, Non Indigens, and People living with disabilities.
In his address the governor bemoned the hardship residents of the state go through to get cash to buy their needs, saying that he feels uncomfortable when people are subjected to discomfort.
The governor however charged the people of the Oluyole local government to vote for the State candidates of the People’s Democratic Party in the next general elections coming up on February 25 and March 11.
In their various remarks, representatives of various political stakeholders present commended the governor for having the love of his people at heart, pledging that magnanimity of the governor shall be reciprocated with massive votes in the next general elections.
The governor later addressed a large crowd at Olomi area where he assured the people of the area more dividends of democracy in Omititun 2.0
The campaign train also toured Ido local government where various groups and associations were canvassed to support the second term bid in office of governor Seyi Makinde and cast their votes for candidates of the PDP in the state.
