Late Abiola Ex-Associate, Su-Kazeem Commends Tinubu Over Subsidy Removal

A close associate of Late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, presumed winner of June 12, 1993 Presidential election, Alhaji Sufianu Kazeem has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the total removal of subsidy on petroleum products, saying that the decision is the best.

Alhaji Kazeem stated this in a release through his media office and made available to journalists in Ibadan.

The elderstateman explained that the initial resistance by Nigerians was due to wrong timing and poor public sensitisation on the part of government.

He added that corruption had assumed a monstrous status in the country, making a mess of the subsidy regime.

Alhaji Kazeem popularly called Su-Kazeem said it is important for Nigerians to support the President of the country in moving it forward.

He explained that what suppose to be of interest to Nigerians in general is to fashion out how to make Nigeria great again as a “Giant of Africa” .

Alhaji Kazeem eulogised various steps taken by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the last three days of his presidency.

The Nigerian government had in January 2012 removed the subsidy totally, a decision that led to rallies at different states kicking against the removal.

After several days rally, the government restored some parts of the subsidy but stressed that there was the need for total removal of the subsidy to enable enable the government re-invest the funds set aside for subsidy payments on needed infrastructures.

The property business mogul added that fund set aside for subsidy if well utilized can be channel towards provision of basic infrastructure and cteate employment opportunity for the young graduates.

He said this will be evident that the nations economic development within a very short frame of time.

Alhaji Kazeem then called on the federal government to ensure increment in Nigeria workers salary in order for them to be able to meet up with their various responsibilities and therefore cushion the effect of the subsidy removal.

He urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to embark on massive Infrastructural provision like train, bus among others and ensure good road network across the country.
