About 20 people have been reported killed in Sokoto State when gunmen attacked a market and torched cars.
According to a State official and a member of the State Parliament the killings came as armed gangs continued to wreak havoc in the (Ctr) – Northwest of the country.
A Special Adviser to the State Police Affairs Minister, Mr Idriss Gobir, said the attackers rode on motorcycles and shot sporadically, killing several people.
Also speaking, a member of the State Parliament, Hon. Hussain Boza, blamed the attack on a lack of adequate security in the State.
