The All Progressives Congress (APC) appears to be facing a crisis, with its National Vice Chairman for the Northwest, Salihu Mohammed Lukman, giving the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, a one-week ultimatum.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the ultimatum is for Adamu to provide a financial account of the National Working Committee (NWC) and convene a meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) or face a lawsuit.

Lukman’s open letter, titled ‘Restoring Constitutional Order in APC, Not Negotiable’, highlighted his earlier formal demand to the party chairman, outlining various constitutional requests.

He noted that two weeks had passed since the demands were presented, with no acknowledgement or indication of consideration.

While the NWC met on April 17, 2023, to ratify the party’s Governorship candidates for Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo states for submission to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Lukman expressed disappointment that, after one year in office, the NWC has yet to hold regular NEC, National Caucus, or National Advisory Council (NAC) meetings.

He said; “I make this an open letter because it is about campaigning to return the APC to its foundation, which requires that we mobilize all like-minded party leaders and members in this crusade to restore constitutional order in the APC.
