The Academic Staff Union of Universities has announced it is embarking on another 12 weeks strike action.
ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke in a report, said this was to give the Government enough time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues.
It also stated that the roll-over strike was effective from 12.01 am, May 8, 2021.
ASUU said it took this decision after its National Executive Council meeting which started on Sunday night at the Comrade Festus Iyayi National Secretariat, University of Abuja.
It would be recalled that ASUU embarked on a warning strike on the 14th of February, 2022, and now rolled over by another 12 Weeks.
Meanwhile, sStudents have commenced mass mobilisation across States, including Lagos, Ilorin and Imo, against the continued strike action by ASUU and Non-Teaching Staff Unions.
It was reported that students have decided to embark on peaceful march on the streets because there seems to be no end in sight to the ASUU strike, which has entered its third month.
