Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday, October 15.
Also, the speaker of the State House of Assembly, alongside the 22 lawmakers, have also resigned their membership from the opposition party.
Diri’s resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party was disclosed in a post on Facebook by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah.
Governor Diri’s exit from the PDP comes 24 hours after his Enugu State counterpart, Peter Mbah, formally dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Diri is yet to disclose details of his political future as of the time of filing this report.
