Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has met with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in what sources describe as a move aimed at mending political fences.

The closed-door meeting reportedly took place at Wike’s Abuja residence and was facilitated by key political figures, including Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, and former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba
According to insider accounts, Fubara, upon arrival, walked directly into Wike’s living room—a space he is said to be familiar with—and appealed to the minister in a bid to restore relations.
A source who spoke with Daily Post on condition of anonymity confirmed the meeting, saying, “Yes, there was a meeting, I can confirm that.”
However, the source could not verify whether the meeting would lead to a resolution of the current political impasse.
The development comes amid heightened political tension in Rivers State.
President Bola Tinubu had earlier suspended Governor Fubara, his deputy, and the entire state House of Assembly for six months, appointing a Sole Administrator to manage state affairs during the period.
Reacting to the crisis, Wike reportedly revealed that he had pushed for Fubara’s removal but was restrained by President Tinubu, who opted for a softer intervention.
