Ahead of the 2023 general election, senatorial aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Oyo South senatorial district, Hon Tayo Sarumi on Friday was endorsed by leaders and chairmen of PDP in Ibarapa zone of Oyo State.
Speaking at their various local government areas while receiving Hon Tayo Sarumi who was at the area to informed them of his aspiration, some leaders of the party in Ibarapa zone which included Chairman of PDP in Ibarapa central local government, Akinlolu Olugbade, Ibarapa East, Alhaji Sikiru and Ibarapa north, Hon.Olayiwola Ojuogun all expressed their readiness to support the aspiration of Hon Sarumi.
They stated that the former federal legislator has impacted positively in the lives of his people during his stay at the green chamber noting that they are ready to support his aspiration this time.
The trio urged the aspirant not to let the people down if elected adding that, Hon Sarumi good past successes will stand him out among all the aspirants.
Addresing the leaders, Hon Sarumi disclosed that he decided to vie for the Oyo South senatorial seat because he believes the people deserves better than what they had gotten in the last three years.
He stated that he was overwhelmed by the reception shown him during the visit and the sacrifices made to come to meet with him will be his motivating factor as he moved around.
Hon Sarumi described himself as practical man and not storyteller adding that he will ensure dividends of democracy to the people of Ibarapa in the early year of his assumption to office as a Senator.
He said he had taken the pains to look at the problems bedeviling the people and will ensure solutions to them as soon as he is inaugurated at the Red Chamber.
He also added that his office will be wide open for people from his senatorial district, not minding the zone they come from.
Earlier, the Director General, Hon Sarumi Campaign Group, Prince Ayoade Ola Akanji expressed confidence that Hon Sarumi’s emergence will be a good omen for the people of Oyo South Senatorial District based on his past achievements as a federal lawmaker.
