The remains of the late Mama Abigail Ajooke Akanmu was on Friday laid to rest at her residence in Ibadan.
Mama Akanmu who died at the age of 130, was the mother of the former Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Oyo state, Pastor Benjamin Akanmu
In his sermon at the outing and thanksgiving service held at Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, Victorious Area, centre, Efun quarters, Olaogun , Old Ife Road, Ibadan, Pastor J.A Ogabi who is a zonal supritendent , Christ Apostolic Church, Bashorun Olunloyo zone , enjoined Christians to live an upright life while on earth in order to secure a place in heaven.
He noted that death is inevitable and advised the deceased family to uphold the good virtues of their mother, describing her as a courageous, peace-maker, and true Christian.
He lauded the worthy virtues of the deceased, noting that each individual would bear the consequences of their actions or inactions.
Thereafter, a special thanksgiving was held by the children, grandchildren, families and all those present at the service.
Speaking at the reception held at Bashmol event centre, also in Ibadan, Pastor Benjamin Akanmu described their mother as an outstanding mother, community leader, mentor and a defintion of motherhood.
Also, a daughter in law, Mama Benjamin Akanmu and a grandchild, who is the deputy chaplain, Oyo overnment House Chapel, Pastor Fola Akanmu said they will forever missed the deceased.
The reception features a special musical performance by a Lagos based musician.
Mama Abigail Ajooke Ojoose Akanmu was born in Ofatedo in 1895
