Revealed: Why Motorists, Passengers Along Iseyin-Okeho Road May Face Long Time Neglect By FG

Federal Government was said to have been paid for the reconstruction of Iseyin-Okeho road, in Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State since 2021.

The government at the centre may decline its current intervention to make it motorable, sequel to undisclosed huge amount of money which, it has been earmarked and disbursed for the project.

An anonymous source who spoke with the reporter disclosed that the road has been paid for, by federal government since 2021.

The source hinted that the piece of information obtained from the Federal Ministry of Works had it that, the payment has been made for the reconstruction of Iseyin-Okeho since 2021.

Anonymous source added that efforts made to ensure that the road becomes motorable, revealed that Iseyin-Okeho ought to have been completed as a result of logistics which has been provided for its reconstruction.

Source said emphatically that, Federal Government might not intervene now, as its belief centres on completion of the road, not thinking of its deplorable condition now.

He said, FG was of opinion that, let’s assume that the road was not properly rehabilitated, it should be able to have the life span of 5-7 years before any intervention.

Why asking about who collected the money and to whose account the money for its reconstruction was paid, the source declined to mention names of those involved.

He however said, he was so disheartening and sad seeing people passing through such hardship in their attempts and struggles to make a living and sustain their survival.

The source added that it was a pity that the road has been cutoff, and that has become bottleneck for the motorists, motorcyclists and even pedestrians to ply the route now.

He said the current situation which had made the spot turning to a mini border remains bad and devastated experience for its users.
