Some supporters of Rangers football club of Enugu on Wednesday morning staged a peaceful protest over the dismal performance of their team in the ongoing abridged domestic league
The supporters, carrying placards with the inscription “bring back Rangers to Enugu” stormed the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu on Wednesday morning to express their grievances to the club’s management.
But the supporters were refused entry into the stadium by its management.
The protesters said they were unhappy that the Coal City team were yet to win a game this season in the abridged league.
They also demanded the appointment of a Team Manager and General Manager for Rangers to help pilot the affairs of the club
Recall that since the departure of the former Team Manager Barrister Ameobi Ezeaku, Rangers are yet to have a new Team Manager.
Also, there has not been a new General Manager after the departure of Davidson Owumi who joined the Interim Management Committee (IMC) from his former position.
The club’s Secretary Barrister Ferdinand Ugwuarua has been acting in the General Manager’s position since then
