President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigeria’s female senior basketball national team, D’Tigress, for winning the 2023 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship.
D’Tigress conquered Africa again with their 84-74 win over Senegal in the final of FIBA Women Afrobasket Championship on Saturday at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.
The victory is the fourth in a row for the coach Rena Wakama tutored D’Tigress and in the process extending their winning run on the continent to 24 games.
Tinubu congratulated the team saying, “I congratulate our very own D’Tigress #tigressNG for a well-deserved fourth consecutive AfroBasket Women Championship.
“We are proud of you.”
