Following the reported collapse of an uncompleted building in Gbagi, Ibadan, the state government has ordered stoppage of construction work at the site.

The structure is dangerously close to a high-tension line on the road, posing a threat to neighboring buildings and nearby shops. Additionally, the remnants of the collapsed building could become even more hazardous if there is heavy rainfall.

The state Commissioner for Lands, Mr Akin Olufunmilayo who visited the scene stated that he was alerted about the building collapse and came to see things for himself.

He disclosed that a team from the Ministry of Land and Housing will conduct an integrity test on the building tomorrow to determine whether the construction can continue or should be halted.

As a precautionary measure, the state government has sealed off the site and ordered the engineers to suspend their work until the integrity test is completed.

It would be recalled that RockHill on Monday noon reported the collapse of the building with no reported fatalities in the collapse, except one of the worker on site who sustained serious injuries.
