The seems to be an end to the reign of current federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North East /South East federal constituency, Abass Adigun Agboworin as more aspirants continue to show genuine interest in his position.

The Special Adviser to the Oyo State governor on tourism and culture, Hon Ademola Akeem Ige is moving so close to his aspiration of representing the good people of Ibadan South East and Ibadan North East Federal constituency during the 2023 general elections as he picked his expression of interest and nomination forms at PDP national secretariat, Wadata plaza, Abuja.

Hon. Ademola Akeem picked the said forms sequel to his consultations among various stakeholders and political leaders in the said federal constituency to seek their support and blessings.

Shortly after collecting the forms, Hon. Ademola Ige went ahead to present the forms to his leader and political mentor, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, the Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in his Abuja office for his blessing.

In his brief remarks with journalists, Hon. Ige said he is contesting for the House of Representatives election so as to use his experience as a former council Chairman and former state lawmaker to bring about effective legislation that will transform into quality lives for the people in his constituency.

According to him, “you see in politics experience counts a lot in whatever position one is seeking to occupy. As somebody who was once a council Chairman, former state lawmaker, former Senior Special Assistant and now Special Adviser to the most performing Governor in the entire Nigeria, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, with experiences I have gathered in these offices, I am better equipped and in better position to represent our constituency at the federal level.

And what will this translate to if I am elected? It means better life for my constituents. They will enjoy quality and effective representation especially the youths, the aged, women and so on. Our political leaders and members will experience real dividends of democracy because without them and their support no politician will achieve his or her aim.” He said.

It is in record that Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige (a.k.a. Ige Again) unarguably remains the only former council Chairman who singlehandedly employed no fewer than 350 youths into government service in Nigeria since 1999 when this political dispensation began among other lofty programmes he executed for the betterment of the people.
