Following the Thursday Supreme Court Judgement on given financial autonomy to local governments across the state, an Oyo State Governorship aspirant come 2027, Olaoluwa Peter Abidemi popularly called OPA has commended the apex court over its verdict.
Olaoluwa while reacting to the early morning judgement through his media office said the decision of the Supreme Court has comfirmed.of superiority of the Nigeria constitution over matter..
He said one of the hindrance to the nation’s socio political development has just been removed and such will pave way for a very rapid development especially at the Grassroot.
The revered Chartered Accountant said the responsibility is now on local council leaders to ensure that the broad spectrum of Nigerians living at that level are satisfied that they are benefitting from people-oriented service delivery.
Olaoluwa added that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is now gradually becoming a reality and standard even in the politics and governance.
He stressed that governance should be about the people at all levels, irrespective of faith, tribe, gender, political affiliation, or any other artificial line that may exists.
Olaoluwa said by virtue of the judgement, people at the grassroot can now ask questions from their leaders and hold them accountable for their actions or inactions.
The Guber hopeful further said the judgement is also a confirmation that legitimate means of redress can be used to restructure the country and among many others.
It added that the decision of the Supreme Court to uphold the constitutional rights and ideals of local governments as regards financial autonomy, and other salient principles, is of historic significance and further reinforces the effort to enhance Nigeria’s true federal fabric for the development of the entire nation.
