IPMAN Orders Shutting Down Of Petrol Stations In Ibadan.

The ongoing fuel scarcity in Ibadan took another dimension on Friday as all petrol stations across Oyo State have been directed to shut down operations.

The Chairman, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Ibadan Depot, Alhaji Bukola Mutiu disclosed this in Ibadan on Friday afternoon.

The fuel scarcity that rear it’s face in Ibadan metropolis few hours ago on Friday take another dangerous dimension with shutting down of petrol stations across Oyo State.

On Thursday, fuel scarcity resurfaced in some areas in Ibadan bringing back ques to many petrol stations in Ibadan.

While some with long ques are selling, some are not even selling at all claiming they don’t have the products.

Speaking with newsmen at his Apata, Ibadan office, the chairman, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Ibadan Depot, Alhaji Bukola Mutiu said the directives to shut down petrol stations was taken due to the victimisation of some of its members by IGP monitoring team who had embarked on sealing of some stations.

He stated that the monitoring had no power under law to seal any petrol stations.

While explaining the cause of the scarcity, Alhaji Mutiu said no marketers in Ibadan have been able to lift products from Ibadan Depot due to vandalisation at Arepo.

Alhaji Bukola Mutiu added a decision will be taken after meeting with relevant stakeholders.
