The Spokesperson, Authentic Mogaji’s Of Ibadanland, Mogaji Olawale Oladoja has urged the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde to be on board fully the Mogaji’s and Baale’s across Oyo State to assist in strengthening the security architecture of the state.
Mogaji Oladoja in a release on Saturday morning explained that with the spate of insecurity, banditry, kidnapping across the Southwest states, it is important for Governor Makinde to take urgent step to further protect the state.
He said Governor Seyi Makinde is leading and setting pace when talking about securing the people and property of the state, but it becomes more pressing now to move to the next level.
Oladoja who is the Mogaji of Akinsola’s compound expressed shock to the recent activities of kidnappers and terrorists in different part of the Southwest states which left everyone in shock.
He stated that it is now expedient to dedicate special responsibility to Mogaji’s, both Authentic and it’s counterpart as well as Baale’s in other parts of the state to be involved in the security of the state.
“I remembered at the inception of Governor Makinde’s administration in 2019, he called all Mogaji and directed us to go and see to the security of our jurisdiction. I, as Mogaji Akinsola called all of the boys in my area together, after feeding them and empowering some of them, I counselled them on the need for them to be agent of securing their society which they all accepted and since then, there has been relative peace. This type of idea is what I’m calling on Governor Seyi Makinde to once again resuscitate and with this, safety will surely be restored.
“Let me say that some of our people are the first contact of this criminal elements whenever they come into town to perpetrate their evil acts, but because there is no no synergy between the government and traditional leaders, they choose to keep quiet, even to to the detriment of their lives. If the state government can support and empowered the Baale’s and Mogaji’s, then the work may be made easier.”
Mogaji Oladoja commended Governor Seyi Makinde for being the best active Governor in making sure that Western States Security Network, codenamed Amotekun is in full operation in the state.
He called on the federal government to find lasting solution to the increasing spate of insecurity across the nation.
He stated Nigerians can not afford to add the pains of insecurity to the already loaded and myriads of problems facing them, hence the need for urgent solution to the problem.
“Mr President, let me say to you that Nigerians are hungry and by that are seriously angry. To now add to their pains through insecurity, is indeed unfair. Vice President Shettima promised to see to the end of terrorism during their campaign, what then is happening now?
“I want to advise the President that if it is to ask some of his ministers that are not performing to go their houses will bring solution, pls let him do so, Nigerians are seek and tired of this.”
