The Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, and former Governor of Oyo State, Sen. Oba Rashidi Ladoja on Wednesday reconciled the Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, and his enstranged ex- Deputy Governor, Engr Rauf Olaniyan.
The relationship between Governor Makinde and his former Deputy turned sour early in the life of his administration, climaxing in his impeachment by the state House of Assembly .
In a dramatic turn of event, the two feuding parties met at the prayer session for the 80th birthday celebration of Oba Ladoja, where both Engr Olaniyan and Governor Makinde shy away from exchanging greetings at the event.
Noticing this, the Otun Olubadan prevailed on Governor Makinde and his former Deputy to greet each other and let go of any animosity existing between them.
The show off, which attracted the attention of the audience, got the applause of the gathering when Governor Makinde and Engr Olaniyan heeded Oba Ladoja’s entreaties and embraced each other as they exchanged pleasantries.
Governor Makinde, who came to facilitate Oba Ladoja on his 80th birthday celebration, praised the former governor for his sterling leadership qualities.
