The fiftieth wedding anniversary of the immediate past Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State chapter, Pastor Benjamin Akanmu and his wife Victoria Akanmu was on Friday held at Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, Old Ife Road, Ibadan.
Speaking at the thanksgiving service to marked the anniversary, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, Apostle Col Joshua Akinyemiju (Rtd) described Pastor Akanmu as true man of God.
The Oyo State CAN Chairman stated that his predecessor is a leader worthy to be emulated in all his doing.
In his comment, the Chairman, Christian Pilgrims welfare Board, Oyo State, Bishop Ademola Moradeyo said Pastor Akanmu is a hardworking Christian leader who works for advancement of the gospel of Christ.
Bishop Ademola disclosed that the political activeness of Pastor Akanmu is also second to none as he assiduously worked for the emergence of the Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde.
In his sermon, Bishop Daniel Olujimade eulogised the great virtues of Pastor Benjamin Akanmu whom he served while he was the CAN Chairman in the state.
Bishop Olujimade said the fiftieth anniversary is an evidence of the couple perseverance, endurance and the spirit oneness which Christians must imbibe.
Others who spoke at the event which included some of the former CAN executives, clergymen and families testified to the true Christian attributes of Pastor Benjamin Akanmu.
While speaking with journalists, the celebrant, Pastor Benjamin Akanmu described his wife as the greatest gift from God to him.
He emphasised the need for couples to build their home on the foundation of Christ for sustainability long lasting marriage.
Pastor Akanmu who is also the district supretendent, Christ Apostolic Church, Odubanjo region, Ondo State and his wife, Victoria at the event renewed their love to one another with cutting of the wedding anniversary cake and a toast the occasion.
Present at the event included leadership of Christ Apostolic Church worldwide, members of the Nigeria Association of Journalists (NACJ) led by its Oyo State Chairman, Lekan Shobo Shobowale, families and relatives of the celebrants.
