The APC National Woman Leader, Dr. Mrs. Mary Alile Idele, has expressed her profound gratitude to the people of Edo State for their overwhelming confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the party’s resounding victory in the just-concluded Edo State Governorship Election.
The election, held on Saturday, the 21st of September, saw the APC’s candidate, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, emerge as the Governor-elect, with Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa as his deputy.
In her statement, Dr. Mary Alile commended the electorate for their faith in the APC, promising that the new administration will work diligently to fulfil its campaign promises and bring the dividends of democracy to every corner of the state.
Governor-elect, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, and his deputy, are committed to ensuring that the people of Edo enjoy the benefits of good governance”, she emphasized. “Now is the time for governance, and we must all unite to move Edo forward”.*
She further called on all Edo indigenes and residents to set aside political differences and support the governor-elect for the overall betterment of the state.
“The election is over, and it’s time to focus on progress. I urge everyone to back the new administration for a better Edo”.
Dr. Mary Alile also made a direct appeal to opposition members, urging them to prioritize the state’s interests and avoid any actions that could destabilize Edo. *”The well-being of our people should come first. I call on all opposition members to join hands with us and avoid anything that might disrupt the peace and stability of our beloved state”, she said.
As Edo State enters this new chapter, Dr. Mary Alile expressed optimism that, with collective effort and unity, the future looks bright under the leadership of Governor-elect, Sen. Monday Okpebholo.
