Songs of appreciation rent the air at The St Peter’s Anglican Church, Ifesowapo, Ibadan, as high profile personalities Nigeria converged on the church for its annual harvest thanksgiving service.
The harvest thanksgiving also witnessed award presentation to the first female professor of computer science in Nigeria, Professor Adenike Osofisan, the Pastor in charge of the church, Rev. and Mrs Joseph Ademola Dopamu and his family, among other others.
In his sermon at the service, the guest preacher, Rev Wole Oladapo said the ability of men is limited without the mercy of God.
He stated that whatever Christians achieved, it is by God and not because of their efforts or good deeds adding that if they can put their trust in God, they will achieve even more than they ever expect.
In his remark, the Pastor in charge of the church who is also an awardee, Rev. Joseph Ademola Dopamu urged Christians to imbibe the habit of contributing to the progress of mankind and God’s work.
He said some of the awardees were honoured because of their various contributions to the work of God.
