THE Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oluyole local government, on Saturday honoured Mogaji (Prof) Gbolagade Abiodun for his commitment to religious harmony and effective service to humanity not only in Oluyolel federal constituency but Oyo State as a whole.
Speaking at the 2024 Christmas Carol and award programme organised by CAN, Oluyole local government held at Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Ife headquarters, New Garage Ibadan, Mogaji (Prof) Gbolagade Abiodun who is the Mogaji Lato’s compound, Labo, Ibadan said it is important for Nigerians to pray for the restoration of the nation.
Gbolagade Abiodun who is also a House of Reps hopeful for Oluyole federal constituency Christian leaders to see their calling as call to serve God and humanity, thereby admonishing them to do things that would promote the Christian faith.
He thanked the leadeship of CAN in Oluyole local government and promised to re-dedicate himself to the service of God.
Gbolagade Abiodun said that positive ideals and values should be promoted to further strengthen the nation’s democracy, saying that the prevailing situation in the country required prayers from all religious bodies.
He urged the Association to work towards the promotion of peace and unity in the country.
“We must resist violence in all its ramifications and pursue peace with one another. We need to work in love and understanding. We look forward to the continued reign of peace.
“Undoubtedly, the prevailing situation in our country requires all of us and those in government to continue to pray for the economic sustenance of our country.
The Christian leaders at the event thrown their weight behind the aspiration of Mogaji Gbolagade Abiodun aspiration come 2027.
He was later decorated and presented with the plaque of honour at the programme.
