..ccii should fix more pressing needs confronting ibadanland – family
The ongoing crisis surrounding the alleged removal of Mogaji Olawale Oladoja as family head of Akinsola’s compound took a new turn on Tuesday when representatives of Akinsola’s family wrote a letter to the leadership of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) appealing to them to desist from interfering in issues concerning their family.
According to the letter signed by Dr Waliyilahi Mokanjuola Akinsola and Mr Isiaka Oladoja, secretary , Akinsola’s family, and made available to journalists in Ibadan said its becoming unpalatable and unacceptable to the family the unnecessary interference of CCII in Akinsola’s family affair.
The statement queried the Ibadan apex socio cultural group on its reason for showing so much interest in what concerns the Olubadan In council when it is not a party to such council.
The statement acknowledged the fact that even though CCII as a body can use its position to make peace when there are issues but such interference should not be partial and judgemental.
The family expressed surprise to the recent arraignment of Mogaji Olawale Oladoja by CCII on frivolous and cooked up allegations just to witch hunt their Mogaji and give him a bad name.
The Akinsola’s family disclosed that irrespective of feelings or hatred for Mogaji Oladoja, he remained their Mogaji and anyone nursing the opposite is just an ordinary goose chase.
It reemphasized its full support and solidarity to Mogaji Olawale Oladoja and assured him of their support at all times.
The family thanked the Oyo state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde for standing on the side of truth since the crisis began, describing him as a worthy leader and great supporter of Akinsola’s family.
The statement further called on CCII to channel their effort in things that can genuinely bring about reconciliation and healing of wounds and not embarking on things that can further divide the land.
It added that there are more pressing issues like long awaited creation of Ibadan state, rapid development of Ibadan land among other developmental strides and not unconcerned issues like the current crisis.
