As Nigeria marks 64 years of Independence, Oyo state Governorship hopeful, Olaoluwa Peter Abidemi popularly called OPA has expressed optimism that the country is on the path of greatness in spite of its current challenges.
Olaoluwa in a press statement marking the 64th independence anniversary of the nation on Tuesday said the nation is getting it right this time.
He said, there are challenges, but in spite of these challenges, one can still be confident in the future of Nigeria and the ability of the current federal government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed.
He added that there has been glimpse of hope pointing to fact that the nation is been of steer towards a consistent path of greatness.
He stated that in spite of the current economic challenges, Nigeria and Nigerians have every reason to celebrate the progress so far recorded, especially in the last one year.
Olaoluwa said “we are on the path of sustainable growth and development.
“We are winning the war against insurgency, winning the war against corruption and actually growing our non-oil revenue sources in a manner that clearly indicates that we are truly on the path to a diversified economy.”
He urged Nigerians, particularly Oyo State residents and workers, to contribute their own quota to national development by rededicating themselves to duty.
“More than ever before, we all need to come together and work in unity in order to contribute to the economic development of our dear state and Nigeria,” Olaoluwa stressed.
He then asked the people to be thankful to Almighty God for the rare privilege of being alive adding that Once there is life, there is hope.
“We must start doing things a different way so as to achieve a different and hopefully better result.”
